I love illustrated Christmas books and The Christmas Doll was excellent. The paintings are beautiful and really pulled me into the story. I enjoyed reading this for myself, to my children, and watching my children read it again. The story is touching–a reminder of days gone by when there weren’t many toys available and for many children, Christmas didn’t come with more than one or two presents.

The fact that this is based on a true story makes the story all the more heart-warming. It’s a perfect addition to your Christmas collection!
