I love this thought because I feel the pressure of the world around me always expecting more of me. Yes, I have unlimited potential but I don’t have to do everything and conquer the world TODAY. I don’t want to lose sight of what is most important and the most important things are often the simple things that get left by the wayside while we’re encouraged to do more, more, MORE! I think we definitely need to decide what is most important and then develop the strength to stand up for that most important thing and not let it get pushed aside by other people’s demands and expectations.

“What is an author to do?
There may be a compromise. Instead of writing massive tomes, working on endless descriptions, what if you instead wrote more “deeply”? What if you spent time considering how your setting would affect your characters, changing the way that they acted, felt, thought, and spoke? Could you immerse your reader into your fictive universe more deeply by making it a goal to do so in every paragraph, every sentence?
Think of your story as a chocolate cake. One way to sate the appetite of a fan might be to make a HUGE cake. But instead of making your cake larger, could you make it richer and more delicious?
Think about that today, as you work on your latest work, whatever it may be.”

I’m happy to introduce you to author Ronda Hinrichson today. Here is the inspirational thought she wanted to share:
Some time ago, I read a statement like this from a fellow blogger: “My life is so boring. I don’t have anything to write about. No one wants to hear about me.”
I disagree. In fact, I believe “you” are infinitely more intriguing to others than you think you are. Not only intriguing, but also powerful. Who else sees things exactly as you do? Who else has your particular combination of talents and experiences? Who else has the power to calm, comfort, or influence those special someones in your life?
Only you.
While I was in college, I had an amazing writing teacher named Dorla Jenkins. She taught me: “Your power is in your individuality.” It’s a truth I hope everyone, including the aforementioned blogger, will come to believe.
