Count Down to Love was an excellent read. I read this spin off of the popular reality show, The Bachelor, in just a couple days.

Julie Ford’s protagonist–Kelly Grace has a no-nonsense attitude that made for some fun interactions and her wounded heart had me rooting for her to find Mr. Right.

Book Review: The Reluctant Bachelorette by Rachael Anderson

Rachael Anderson has written another great contemporary romance. I like her fresh writing style. Her characters pull you in and make you root for them. She has a knack for making you laugh and sigh on the same page. I was lucky enough to read The Reluctant Bachelorette.

Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it’s up to the viewers–not her–to decide which bachelors stay or go.

Book Review: Rakes and Roses by Josi S. Kilpack

Josi Kilpack has created a wonderful family during the regency period that I just can’t get enough of so I was happy to find another story in the Mayfield Family Romance series.

This novel deals with a main character who is a survivor of an abusive marriage and the reader will love seeing how strong and smart she has become despite her trials. Lady Sabrina defies many of the social customs to help others and change her own life.

Harry Stillman is a rake, but he’s quite a charming rake. I loved reading his story of change and looking into his heart. The courtship in this story is unconventional and unexpected and I loved it!

You won’t want to miss this Proper Romance and I definitely can’t wait to read another Mayfield Family Romance!

Book Review: Replacing Gentry by Julie N. Ford

Replacing Gentry is an excellent story with mystery, romance, and a vivid setting which will draw you in and keep you immersed in the novel. I liked how this book was reminiscent of Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier yet had great contemporary presence. Ford’s characters have great dialogue sequences and I love how in between racing through suspense scenes there were times when I laughed out loud as well. I really enjoy Julie Ford’s writing style.

All together this is an excellent read and I’m glad I had some down time to enjoy this novel!

Book Review Lakeshire Park by Megan Walker

I am a huge fan of the Proper Romance line of books and I’ve read almost all of them. I LOVED Lakeshire Park! It drew me in from the first pages and I couldn’t read fast enough to learn the fate of Amelia’s heart, her family’s future, and what would become of the infamous Peter Wood. In Brighton, England 1820 a woman’s future was often uncertain, and marriage was the only thing that could save her from a life of servitude or living as a spinster with a family member. For the Moore girls, there would be no such family to care for them once their stepfather passes on. The urgency of their situation combined with the elegance of the regency setting creates a storyline that promises to engage the reader.

The light banter kept me smiling, while the historical details pulled me deeper to the stories. I could almost hear Amelia playing the pianoforte and almost taste fresh English blackberries. It was really fun to read this because Walker did a great job of bringing the reader in to understand Amelia’s heart before she could figure it out herself. I could hardly read fast enough to discover the satisfying HEA. I’ll definitely be passing along this clean and wholesome romance to my daughters and friends.

Book Review: My Own Mr. Darcy by Karey White

Folks, I have a another author to add to my favorites list! Karey White has done it again in My Own Mr. Darcy. This is a fabulous read, a clean romance with plenty of wit and charm. White knows how to draw a character that is far from the sappy lovesick hero/heroine. Her characters have depth and it’s easy to feel their emotion and struggles in this story.
