Book Review: The Heart of a Vicar by Sarah M. Eden

If you love clean reads, then check The Heart of a Vicar out. I’m excited to share with you my thoughts on Sarah M. Eden’s latest Regency romance. She always does a great job of writing a clean and wholesome romance that really plays on the reader’s heart.

I adore the Jonquil family and I’m so glad that when Eden created this family, she decided to make it very large so that I could read about all of the wonderful Jonquil children and their happy ever afters. Harry has long been in the shadows as I’ve read through these novels so his story was a delight to read. Sarah Sarvol’s character actually reminds me a lot of Sarah Eden–someone who is bright, optimistic, and serving others despite the hardships in her life.

This love story unfolded carefully and in a very interesting way with things like rock climbing, drinking songs, and a sort-of kidnapping to bring out the true heart of the vicar.

The great thing about these books is that they can be read in any order. You’ll meet different members of the family and find out why I love the Jonquils so much!

Book Review: A Fine Gentleman by Sarah M. Eden

I am a huge fan of Sarah Eden’s books and if you love regency romance, then you should definitely pick up her books. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Eden’s books because her writing is impeccable, her wit makes me laugh out loud, and the love stories are inspiring and swoon-worthy. What’s not to love?

I was very pleased to have a chance to read and review A Fine Gentleman and from the first pages found myself smiling, chuckling, and rooting for the dear Mariposa Thornton and poor Jason Jonquil. I loved the depth of Mariposa’s character–her abilities were much more profound than I would have guessed at the first meeting. And Jason also held a side that was wonderful to discover. I like how Eden went back and forth between the two characters viewpoint, weaving a tale that was pure enjoyment to read. The historical setting with the aftermath of the war and Napoleon’s shadow on this time of the world was interesting. I liked seeing a character from Spain and learning about what people might have gone through during that era of history.

I’ve come to love the Jonquil family and you’ll note that several of Eden’s books tell the stories of these adventurous brothers. They are are clean and wholesome romance and are delightful.

Book Review: Heart of the Ocean by Heather B. Moore

I loved the setting of the 1840s mixed with the Puritan town of Maybrook in this wonderful story, Heart of the Ocean. Eliza’s character is genuine, strong, yet careful. I enjoyed the mystery in this historical romance and Heather B. Moore kept me guessing throughout with the whisperings of ghosts, murders, forbidden romance, and unrequited love. This story has everything you need for a satisfying evening curled up on the couch.

Book Review: Hope Springs by Sarah M. Eden

I loved the first book of the series, Longing For Home. You can find my book review HERE. I couldn’t wait to read the next part of Katie’s story.

As I’ve mentioned, I’m a fan of Sarah Eden’s writing style–she is very talented. This book doesn’t disappoint! The struggle Katie faces in the Wyoming town of Hope Springs is vivid and full of emotion. The ignorant hatred that she dealt with and the grace with which she did is an amazing example. At the same time, I love her independent spirit and fiery nature with determination to overcome the odds against her. The love story is sweet and kept me turning pages to find out if Katie would choose Tavish or Joseph–both great men. If you’re looking for the perfect historical romance, this book fits the ticket!

Book Review: The Dating Experiment by Elodia Strain

I loved this absolutely delightful romantic comedy by Elodia Strain. This clean read was exactly what I needed! The Dating Experiment is one you definitely want to read soon so you can laugh, snort, giggle, sigh, maybe tear up a little, and just feel really great from a good read!

Something else that made reading this book super fun was that my daughter snagged it as soon as I got it. She proceeded to read it in 2 1/2 days and then it was my turn. I started reading and smiling right from the get-go. My daughter told me, “Tell me when you get to the part where she dates Roarke.”

Well, I knew I had found the part because I was laughing my head off! It was so fun to talk to my daughter when she got home from school about the book and we both laughed together. I love that The Dating Experiment is a book that both a mother and daughter can read and enjoy without worrying about objectionable content, as it’s a clean and wholesome romance book.

The voice in this clean romance was brilliant. I feel like Gabby is one of my best friends and if I could find her, I’d give her a bottle of my favorite shampoo. You’ll have to read the book to find out why.
