This book is excellent because it has everything a good read needs–mystery, love, danger, adventure, soul-searching and saving! Nichole Giles has taken her writing to the next level and increased the connection to her characters in Birthright. This storyline is intense and you’ll be taken prisoner by every beat of adventure as Abby and Kye’s story continues.

I absolutely loved and cherished every page of For Times of Trouble: Spiritual Solace from the Psalms. Jeffrey R. Holland brought the Psalms to life for me in a way that I’ve never experienced. I have a new appreciation for the Psalms and am eager to continue studying them throughout my life.

This story has it all–adventure, romance, and self-discovery. I love Abby’s strength and abilities to see things that others can’t. Giles has crafted a page-turner that will leave you looking for Abby and Kye hoping for more of their story.

Book Review: The Valet’s Secret by Josi S. Kilpack

I love Josi Kilpack’s writing so much that I skimmed the back cover blurb and dove right in, which is why I didn’t realize that this was a Regency Cinderella story with a twist until near the end! What a wonderful surprise!

I adored the characters of Rebecca of the common class and Kenneth, the heir to an earldom. It was refreshing to read about a middle-aged couple with a second-chance romance. Josi starts the novel with a sizzling kiss that creates a fire of problems for the characters. There is definite attraction, but how can a would-be earl and a housemaid ever be together? It doesn’t seem possible in Regency England, but you can hold onto the hope of the classic Cinderella story and keep reading. And then you will be delightfully entertained as the story unfolds, twists, and turns, and of course delivers a few more fantastic kisses.

I highly recommend this clean, proper romance and I’ve already loaned it to my teenage daughter. Don’t miss this one!

I burned through this book:)

The Hundredth Queen was an incredible story with so many twists and turns! King built a world with formidable odds, heroes, and villains. The descriptions are delicious and I loved the reveals with Kalinda as the story unfolded. I read as fast as I could to the satisfying ending and I can’t wait for more!!

Book Review: Minor Adjustments by Rachael Renee Anderson

I’ll admit that a straight romance is usually not on the top of my to-read pile because I like a little meat with my story. This is exactly the reason I enjoyed Minor Adjustments. Rachael develops her characters well with physical and emotional details that have them walking off the page. Her interactions with the cute, four-year-old Ryan were realistic and fun. I could tell she had definitely done her homework when it came to setting part of the story in Australia. I loved reading and learning little tidbits and nuances about the country and character of the people there. And the plot line was well-developed with some surprises that kept me thinking about this book and how things would turn out for Devon, Ryan, and Stella. Minor Adjustments is sure to please with its clever dialogue and intriguing characters.
